E85 Usage In July Highest In 21 Months

The total volume of E85 sold in Minnesota in July clocked in at 1.4 million gallons, the highest volume of E85 sold in the state in 21 months.

Based on the latest data from the EPA on RIN generation, domestic ethanol consumption this year may exceed the 13.4 billion gallons targeted by the EPA in its proposed RFS target for the year.

Admit it, we aren’t all knowledgeable about everything under the sun. We all have our specialties and things we are passionate about in which we secretly hope people will bring up so we can showcase our brainy talents, but we’re not a Wikipedia robot. There are things we simply don’t know about. And one of those things for me, was ethanol (and outer space).

 

According to a recent report in Clean Technica, Novozymes CEO Peder Holk Nielson made the case for biofuels, adding that the oil industry will not help the world switch to renewable energy.

 

The USDA has announced that 21 states, including Minnesota, will receive grants through its Biofuel Infrastructure Partnership (BIP) program to add infrastructure to increase E15 and E85 pumps. Minnesota, specifically, will receive grants to add 620 fuel pumps to dispense higher ethanol blends such as E15 and E85.
