Candidates & Biofuels

- Would choose E10 over non-oxygenated fuel.

- Would choose E15 / Unleaded Plus over E10.

- Would oppose measures to scrap the RFS.

- Would oppose measures to scrap Minnesota's Petroleum Displacement Law.

- Would  support a standalone bill to fixing the RVP problem so that E15 can be sold during the summer months. She would also support actions to call the EPA to take administrative action to bring RVP parity to E15.

-Would oppose measures requiring gasoline blendstocks with a lower RVP to be used thus eliminating the need for a waiver for both E10 and E15.

- Would support measures to fund infrastructure to increase the availability of E85.

- Would support measures to fund infrastructure retrofits to increase the availability of E15 - E25.

- Would support accelerating the permitting process for the installation of equipment to improve ethanol production and reduce emissions.

Additional comments:

"I have and always will be an ardent supporter for the biofuels industry. In fact, I have been very vocal at the capital about this issue. My senate district has the largest amount of ethanol produced and was the first to see a 100 million gallon ethanol plant. Now, District 23 has three 100 million gallon facilities. I also was the senate author for the elimination of an automatic EIS (Environmental Impact Statement) when increasing the capacity to 100 million gallons. Truly enjoy working on this issue and look forward to our work in the future for promoting and encouraging the biofuels industry."

Additional Comments:

"I totally support the manufacture of biofuels. In fact, I am hoping to gain enough momentum to find financial backing to build a biofuel plant in Mapleton, my home town. I support the use of biofuels not only because I feel they are the wave of the future in all types of transportation fuel but because they will ease emissions into our already suffering atmosphere. "

"We need to take aggressive steps in saving our environment and stimulating our economy."
