In a full page ad that is set to appear in USA Today on Sept 19 to 21, Fuels America argues that the maintaining the RFS is crucial to future investments in advanced biofuels such as the POET-DSM and Quad County Corn Processors respective cellulosic ethanol plants.
"Using groundbreaking technology, these facilities will convert agricultural residue into the lowest-carbon motor fuel in the world. It's good news for our environment and our economy," the ad reads.
However, it says companies looking to invest in the next wave of advanced biofuels have put their plans on hold due to uncertainty surrounding the RFS which in turn would "give oil companies even more control than they already have to limit a cleaner, less expensive alternative from entering the market."
