According to the latest data from the Minnesota Department of Commerce, the volume sold in May was 15.6 percent higher than the volume recorded in May 2023 (10.07 million gallons).

May's Unleaded 88 sales also represented the highest monthly sales volume so far in 2024 and the second highest ever recorded. The highest monthly volume ever recorded in Minnesota was 11.98 million gallons in August of 2023.

The volume in May also marked the 13th consecutive month Unleaded 88 sales in Minnesota have surpassed the 10-million-gallon mark.

On a cumulative basis, 54.98 million gallons of Unleaded 88 was sold over the first five months of 2024, up 16.7 percent from the 47.1 million gallons sold over the same period in 2023.
