The volume sold in May was 6 percent higher than the volume sold in April (9.24 million gallons) despite the fact that only 258 stations reported their sales in May compared to 280 in April. In fact, the station average in May was 37,990 gallons compared to 33,034 gallons in April. 

On a year-on-year basis, sales in May 2023 was 12 percent higher than May 2022 (8.74 million gallons). 

At 9.8 million gallons, the volume sold in May was the highest so far in 2023 and the second highest on record (10.07 million gallons was sold in October 2022). 

Moreover, May's volume represented the 13th consecutive month where monthly E15 sales in Minnesota have exceeded the 8-million-gallon mark. 

On a cumulative basis, 46.47 million gallons of E15 was sold in the first five months of 2023.
