This represented a 10 percent increase from E15 sales recorded in the second quarter of the year (25.51 million gallons). In the first quarter of the year, E15 sales in Minnesota totaled 22.58 million gallons.
Moreover, the volume sold in the third quarter this was 20 percent higher than the 23.43 million gallons sold in the same quarter in 2021.
Data from the Minnesota Department of Commerce showed E15 sales in September reaching 9.33 million gallons, making it the third straight month E15 sales in the state was over the 9-million-gallon-mark.
In fact, the Commerce Department has revised upwards the volume for August to 9.54 million gallons from 9.05 million gallons as previously reported.
At 9.54 million gallons, the volume in August was the highest monthly volume ever recorded. Coming in second was September’s volume at 9.33 million gallons.
Cumulatively, 76.25 million gallons was sold in Minnesota from January to Sept 30 this year.
In 2021, 87.11 million gallons was sold for the whole year.
