According to the Minnesota Department of Commerce, E15 sales in July totaled 9.03 million gallons.
The high volume of E15 sold in July came as drivers in Minnesota sought cheaper alternatives at the pump as gas prices soared to new highs.
In addition, the department revised its total for June to 8.91 million gallons from 8.16 million gallons as previously reported.
In total, 57.12 million gallons of E15 was sold in the first seven months of 2022, 19.4 percent higher than the 47.83 million gallons sold over the same period in 2021.
The volume sold in July this year - 9.03 million gallons - was 15.47 percent higher than the volume sold in July 2021 (7.82 million gallons).
In fact, the volume sold in July was the third consecutive month E15 sales in Minnesota has exceeded 8 million gallons and the 15th consecutive month it has exceeded 7 million gallons.
