The bill was one of five omnibus bills signed into law by the governor.
"These bills will fuel our clean energy transition, providing jobs and clean air for generations to come; support the next generation of Minnesota's workforce by investing in our students; keep our parks, trails, and water clean and vibrant; and help and maintain the strength of our agriculture industry," Walz said.
The omnibus agriculture bill includes $6 million in funding over two years for biofuel infrastructure that would expand access to E15.
The bill allocatesd $3 million in 2022 and $3 million in 2023 in grant funding for retail stations to perform the necessary upgrades (dispensers, storage tanks and other equipment) to offer E15.
The funding under the grant program is intended to make more E15 available in Minnesota and thereby more fully satisfy Minnesota's Petroleum Replacement Promotion Law, which calls for biofuels to comprise at least 30 percent of all transportation fuel consumed in the state.
