At 6.4 million gallons, the volume in April was slightly higher than the 6.23 million gallons sold in March despite the fact that only 248 stations reported their E15 sales in April, compared to 265 stations reporting in March.
The volume in April this year was also substantially higher than the 4.31 million gallons sold in April 2020. However, it should be noted that the volume in April 2020 was severely impacted by the shelter-in-place order issued last year to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
With just 248 stations reporting their E15 volume in April, the total of 6.4 million gallons amounted to an average volume of 25,808 gallons of E15 per station, the highest station average since October 2019 (25,250 gallons).
On a four-month cumulative basis, 25.95 million gallons of E15 was sold in Minnesota this year.
