According to data from the Minnesota Department of Commerce, 6.11 million gallons of E15 was sold in March, slightly lower than the 6.15 million gallons sold in February.
However, there were only 246 stations reporting their sales in March, compared to 303 stations in February.
In fact, the average volume of E15 sold per station in March was 24,860 gallons while it was 20,297 gallons in February. As such, once the remaining stations report their sales in March, the volume of E15 sold in March would clearly exceed the volume in sold in February.
In comparison to March 2020, the volume sold in March 2021 was 10.1 percent higher. However, it should be noted that Minnesota imposed a shelter-in-place order at the end of March 2020 to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
