In February, 6.05 million gallons of E15 was sold, slightly lower than the 6.15 million gallons sold in January.
Nonetheless, the lower volume in February was due to the fact there were fewer stations reporting their sales that month. According to the Minnesota Department of Commerce, 300 stations reported their E15 sales in January while 285 stations did so in February.
In comparison to February last year, the volume sold this year was some 9 percent lower (Feb 2020: 6.66 million gallons).
However, data from the Metropolitan Council shows traffic in the Twin Cities metro in February was on average 18 percent lower than typical levels.
In 2020, 74.4 million gallons of E15 was sold, some 5 percent lower than the 78.52 million gallons of E15 sold in 2019.
