At 6.93 million gallons, the volume sold in October was the highest so far in 2020. The second highest volume recorded this year was in January (6.87 million gallons).
The volume in October was also 6 percent higher than the 6.54 million gallons sold in September.
Nonetheless, it was still marginally lower than E15 sales in October 2019 (7.17 million gallons).
According to the Metropolitan Council, traffic on Twin Cities metro freeways in October was still, on average, 20 percent lower than what it was in October 2019.
On a year-to-date basis, 62.14 million gallons of E15 was sold this year in Minnesota compared to 65.54 million gallons sold during the same period last year.
