The volume in August was marginally higher than the volume sold in July, which was 6.73 million gallons.
On a year-on-year comparison, E15 sales in August was 3 percent lower than the volume recorded in August 2019 (7 million gallons).
On a cumulative basis, 48.66 million gallons of E15 was sold in the first eight months of 2020 in Minnesota, slighlty lower than the 50.75 million gallons of E15 sold over the same period in 2019.
The volume in August was the the fourth straight month of E15 sales growth in Minnesota following declining sales in March and April as a result of the state's stay-at-home order to slowdown the coronavirus pandemic.
Additionally, the volume in August was the second highest volume recorded in 2020. The highest was recorded in January at 6.87 million gallons.
