On a year-on-year comparison, the E15 volume in June was only 1.57 percent lower than the volume sold in June 2019 (6.35 million gallons).
On a cumulative basis, 35.1 million gallons of E15 was sold in Minnesota in the first half of 2020, marginally lower than the 36.89 million gallons sold in the first half of 2019.
The volume in June marked the second straigth month of E15 sales growth in Minnesota following declining sales in both March and April due to the state's stay-at-home order to slowdown the coronavirus pandemic.
In mid-April, the traffic volume in the Twin Cities metro was 65 percent lower than the volume recorded a year earlier.
As restrictions on businesses began loosening towards the end of May, traffic in the Twin Cities began increasing and on May 28, the traffic volume was only 28 percent lower than what it was in 2019.
Traffic throughout the state also began increasing. At the begining of June, it was 14.4 percent lower. By June 30, traffic in the state was only 2.6 percent lower.
