The volume recorded in January 2020 was nearly 20 percent higher than the volume of E15 sold in January 2019 (5.69 million gallons).
According to the Commerce Department’s data, the volume in January this year was slightly lower than the volume in December 2019 (7.02 million gallons).
The drop, however, could be attributed to the fact that there were fewer stations reporting their E15 sales in January compared to December.
In December, 284 stations reported their sales while in January, there were 279 stations reporting.
In 2019, a record 78.52 million gallons of E15 was sold in Minnesota, 32 percent higher than the volume sold in 2018 (59.4 million gallons).
