The journalists were World Press Institute (WPI) fellows participating in a two-month fellowship in the United States that includes visits to Minnesota, Washington D.C., Chicago, Austin, Miami, San Fransisco, New York City and Denver.
The WPI fellows visited Highwater Ethanol while touring southwest Minnesota's agriculture industry last week. The fellows who toured Highwater Ethanol were Josefina Pagani (La Nacion) from Argentina, Rafael Gregorio (Folha de S. Paulo) from Brazil, Yana Nikolova (NOVA TV) from Bulgaria, Saw Nang Lwin (The New York Times) from Burma, Jenny Jannari (Kauppalehti Optio) from Finland, Jalees Andrabi (Agence France Presse) from India, Lidianna Rosli (The New Straits Times) from Malaysia, Joana Azevedo (Renascenca Multimedia) from Portugal and Alexey Kovalev (Coda Story) from Russia.
This is the second consecutive year WPI has included a tour of Highwater Ethanol in its fellowship program. Last year, journalists from Afghanistan, Brazil, Bulgaria, Finland, Gernmany, Guatemala, Kenya, Poland, Russia and the United Kingdom.
