At 9.07 million gallons, the volume of E15 sold in the first two months of this year is nearly half the total sold for the whole of 2017 (19.05 million gallons).
According to data from the Department of Commerce, 4.46 million gallons of E15 was sold in February, marginally lower than the 4.6 million gallons recorded in January.
Nonetheless, the volume in February was nearly five times more than the volume sold in the same month in 2017 (912,341 gallons).
Moreover, February's E15 sales marked the third consecutive month E15 sales in Minnesota have been over 4 million gallons.
Meanwhile, E85 sales in February was 1.28 million gallons, 12 percent higher than the 1.14 million gallons sold in January.
On a cumulative basis, 2.43 million gallons of E85 was sold in the first two months of 2018.
