According to data from the Minnesota Department of Commerce, E15 sales in February closed at 855,593 gallons, 3.38 percent higher than the 827,613 gallons recorded in January.
In comparison to a February 2016, the volume in February this year was 65 percent higher.
February's volume of 855,593 gallons is the highest ever recorded in Minnesota. The previous high was 841,589 gallons recorded in December 2016.
Moreover, the gallons of E15 sold in February is the third consecutive month E15 sales in Minnesota have breached 800,000 gallons.
Cumulatively, E15 sales in the first two months of 2017 totaled 1.68 million gallons. To put that into perspective, that's nearly a third of the volume sold in 2016 (5.68 million gallons) and more than half the total sold in 2015 (3.09 million gallons).
Meanwhile, E85 sales in February was at 979,689 gallons, lower than the 1.12 million gallons sold in January.
