E85 Sales Grew In 2014

Sales of E85 in Minnesota grew 3 percent in 2014 despite fewer stations offering E85.

Using data from the Minnesota Department of Revenue, the Minnesota Department of Commerce said in a statement today E85 sales totaled 13.44 million gallons in 2014 compared to 13.05 million the previous year.

In 2014, there was an average of 293 stations offering E85. In 2013, there was an average of 350 stations that sold E85.

The average price of E85 last year was $2.63, which represented a 61 cent discount to regular unleaded fuel.

Meanwhile, the Department of Commerce said sales of E15 in 2014 closed in at 257,855 gallons, more than six times the volume recorded in 2013 (42,648 gallons). Sales of E30 last year grew 41 percent to 274,347 gallons compared to 193,776 gallons recorded in 2013.
