E15 sales in Minnesota in 2019 closed at 78.52 million gallons, a new all-time high.

The ethanol industry produced 15.8 billion gallons of ethanol and contributed $43 billion to the nation’s economy in 2019, according to a new report.

The use of ethanol in gasoline in the US last year reduced CO2-equivalent greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the transportation sector by 54.1 million tons, according to a report by the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA).

6.8 Million Gallons Of E15 Sold In January

Sales of E15 in Minnesota in January of this year totaled 6.82 million gallons, according to data from the Minnesota Department of Commerce.

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) issued guidlines to ethanol producers earlier this week on conditions to immediately produce and ship 190 proof or 200 proof ethanol for hand sanitizer or surface sanitizer.

E15 sales in Minnesota in February totaled 6.58 million gallons, according to data from the Minnesota Department of Commerce.

Governors from Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota are urging the US Department of Agriculture to provide some relief to the ethanol industry.
