E85 Usage in MN Grew 18% In June

The volume of E85 consumed in Minnesota in June was 18 percent higher than May, according to the Minnesota Department of Commerce.

Using data from the Minnesota Department of Revenue, the Department of Commerce said in a report that the E85 volume in June was 1.25 million gallons compared to 1.06 million gallons in May.

The volume in June was also 3 percent higher than the volume recorded in June 2014 (1.21 million gallons).

The average price of E85 in June was $1.99 per gallon while regular unleaded 87 octane fuel averaged at $2.65 a gallon.

Total E85 sales for the first six months of the year was 5.77 million gallons.

With the RVP season in effect, E15 sales fell to 151,052 gallons compared to 179,760 gallons recorded in May. Nonetheless, it brought the total volume of E15 sold in the first half of 2015 to 1.02 million gallons.

Sales of E30 also grew in June to 43,281 gallons compared to 39,101 gallons in May.
